Flash Flood On Mount Kinabalu Video

After heavy rains, the water flowing of Mount Kinabalu can make it seem like a waterfall. In fact, that is what it looks like when you stand at Kinabalu Park. Typically, climbs are called off whenever there is heavy rain – with good reason.

This video was taken by a climber who climbed Mount Kinabalu in 2007 and was posted on YouTube by riopantera.

We made it to the top of Mount Kinabalu and waited for the romantic sunrise. However thanks to the sudden heavy rain fall we got another unforgettable experience: making a descent surrounded by water. I hope everybody who was on the summit on 18/09/2007 made it home safely.
