We Support Fight For Preemies

Even The Tiniest Voices Need A Champion.

Ever since I became a Daddy, things that affects children and babies affect me too. I guess most people will not realize how having children can change you. It certainly changes your entire outlook on life. Can you imagine dedicating the rest of your life to your child? I had not thought it possible. Having a child makes you want to be a better man.

I love going places with my angelic girl. Actually, I have two now, the younger one was born in June of this year. Her nickname is Angel. Back to traveling with my girls; it’s a joy to see them discover new places and things. Kids have such natural curiosity and sense of adventure. It may be cliche, but it does makes you look at the world through a child’s eyes.

Whenever I hear or see a baby in distress, it affects me, as it should any parent. It just about kills me because they are innocent and undeserving of such hardship. So please spare a thought for premature babies and their parents. They need our help.

From The March of Dimes
Do you know any baby that was born too soon, too small, unable to suck, unable to breathe on his own? Premature birth is a health crisis that jeopardizes the lives and health of nearly half-million babies each year. It is the #1 killer of newborns and can lead to lifelong disabilities.

Until we have more answers, anybody’s baby, could be born too soon. November 17 is dedicated to raising awareness of the crisis of premature birth. The March of Dimes invites bloggers to get involved. We need to fight because babies shouldn’t have to.

[I was going to put a video here but decided against it. The video is found here instead.]

To do your part in raising awareness about this important issue, sign up to be a participating blogger at Fight for Preemies.

Here are some additional ideas of how to take action:

  • Create a band to celebrate, honor or remember a baby in your life.
  • Donate to the March of Dimes in honor of a baby in your life.
  • Add a Fight for Preemies banner or badge to your blog or website.
  • Knit blankets or caps for preemies.
  • Volunteer to be a “preemie cuddler” at a local NICU unit.
