Congratulations to the winner of this year’s Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan 2010, Ms Crystal Eve representing Tanjung Aru.
The Unduk Ngadau is more than a beauty contest, where physical beauty and feminine charms is not enough to decide the winner. She must satisfy the judges that she portrays the ideals that best resemble Huminodun, the Kadazandusun legend of love and compassion. She is a symbol of perfection and purity, and must let her natural self shine through.
The crowned Untuk Ngadau is expected to exhibit the virtues of Huminodun throughout her reign, representing the Kadazandusun people and being the champion of the less fortunate.

These are the ideals the Unduk Ngadau has to live up to. No easy task for anyone, although she could have no better model than the 1984 Unduk Ngadau. This 22 year old representing Tanjung Aru is the daughter of the 1984 Unduk Ngadau winner, Easter Sikayun. This year’s winner holds a diploma in Quantity Surveying, and is a part-time model.
