		<description>Yes! Sabah is such a beautiful gem of the world, it would be shattering if it were to disappear. Fortunately, such destruction can be curbed. The way&#039;s there. All people need is the will.

Also, you might be interested to know that Witness, the group I work with, just launched a new video called &quot;Environment is Life: Voices of Human Rights Activists from Around the World&quot;. It deals with the connection between environmental and human rights, a large facet of which is environmental justice. You can watch it here.

So what we are doing now is asking leading environmental and human rights sites and blogs, such as AboutSabah.com, to help honor Earth Day by helping spread this video and sparking an online conversation about this very important topic. 		<description>In anticipation of Earth Day on the 22nd of April, 2009, Sabah Land Development Board and its associates will organise gaharu planting activities in Sabah.

The primary objectives of this campaign are:
• Reduce illegal logging in the forest reserves;
• Encourage various agencies or companies to reforest the land so as to create a better environment;
• Facilitate public interest or knowledge;
• Organise programmes to improve farming conditions and agricultural outputs;
• Research on various species for environmental and economic purposes;
• Endeavour to make planting materials readily available;
• Seek to be actively involve or be part of the poverty eradication programme; and
• The protection of trees.

22nd April 2009
Time:7.30am-10.20am
Location: TAMAN TUN FUAD STEPHEN BUKIT PADANG, KOTA KINABALU

26th April 2009
Time:8.00am-10.00am
Location: SJK Chi Hwa, Batu 1 1/2, Sandakan

Primarily, the above events or future events consists of donation of Gaharu trees to schools in those areas.</description>
