Earth Day 2009, on 22nd April, Bloggers Unite! We have one planet, we hold it in trust for our future generations. Every little bit helps, every light you switch off, every piece of paper you recycle. There are plenty of things we can do, at home, at work, at school to help make this planet a little better. It is not even an inconvenience, all it takes is a little thought.
Sabah is a green state, in Kota Kinabalu city centre, you can see green hills, and the open sea. Not 1 km out of the city and you will see Mount Kinabalu, if you head towards Likas. On the road, the mountain is to your front, and the sea is to your left. With sunny days most of the year, and trees along the roadside, this place will keep you in touch with nature. Now, imagine if this was all gone.

Also, you might be interested to know that Witness, the group I work with, just launched a new video called “Environment is Life: Voices of Human Rights Activists from Around the World”. It deals with the connection between environmental and human rights, a large facet of which is environmental justice. You can watch it here.

So what we are doing now is asking leading environmental and human rights sites and blogs, such as AboutSabah.com, to help honor Earth Day by helping spread this video and sparking an online conversation about this very important topic. So please feel free to download the video, share it with your friends, and use it in your own materials and efforts. Thank you so much for your efforts.
