Chinese New Year Around Sabah

Chinese New Year in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah is about celebrating traditions, shopping for clothes, eating good food, spending quality time for the family, relatives staying with us, hanging out with friends, open houses, lion dances, kids having fun, drinking lots of beer, and giving out ang pows to the children.

On 16th February 2010, these is a performance entitled Festival of Spring, Cultures of Malaysia-China. It is held in the University of Sabah, Malaysia at 1.30pm. Admission is free but you will need a ticket to get in. My lovely wife managed to get tickets, so I am really looking forward to this performance. Visitors to 1 Borneo Lifestyle Mall would have gotten a sneak peek at some of the performances before Chinese New Year. Judging from the crowds response, it is going to be a hit. This promises to be an amazing experience.

Hosted by The Federation of Chinese Associations Sabah and China Overseas Exchange Association.

Chinese New Year celebration at any part of the world is almost the same. Having red as their good luck color. It is always a celebration of good life and good vibes. Sopping for new clothes and sharing good foods are always part of their celebration. Iv experience Chinese New Year once, and it is really enjoyable. Great Celebration.
