Carol Evian, a Kadazan girl from Papar performed at Inanam G-Mart’s 1st Annivesary from 25th to 27th June 2010. She was the 1st runner-up of the Singing Contest held in G-Mart Papar during their 1st Anniversary celebrations earlier this year.
Carol who attends St Joseph school in Papar, and her interests includes singing and dancing. Having spoken to her and seeing her perform, it is obvious that she is a talented performer. The school she is in does not have any activities that promotes the performance arts, so she practices on her own, with the support of friends and family. She is 15 years old, performs Malay Pop songs, and she owns the stage when she is on it.
Sabah Has Talent
Sabah has a tremendous number of talented singers and performers. In Akademi Fantasia, many Sabahans have performed extremely well. In performance arts, such as Lion Dance and Traditional Dance, we have performed all over the world.

Personally, I feel that the Malay Pop market is too small and our performers need to step out of their comfort zone and be multi-lingual. Take the case of Zee Avi, she was discovered on Youtube. She started as KokoKaina, and she is a very talented song-writer, and singer.
